Business Storage NAS - How to find the Hostname and IP address in Windows

Provides instructions for finding the Hostname and IP address of the Seagate Business NAS in Windows.

Please follow this procedure to find the Hostname and IP address of your Seagate Business NAS in Windows.
Based on current DHCP standards, device IP addresses may change, so Seagate recommends using the Hostname whenever possible to access the device over your network.

  1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run window.
  2. In the Run window, type:
    cmd
    and press Enter.
  3. In the command prompt window, type:
    ping BA-XXXXXX
    BA-XXXXXX is the Hostname (HOST) on the drive label.



    Press Enter.

    The system replies with the IP address for your Seagate Business NAS.
