GoFlex Satellite/GoFlex Media App does not play audio when watching a video


An iDevice may not play the audio of a video file played using the GoFlex Media App. This article provides troubleshooting.

Occasionally an iPad will not play the audio of a video file played using the GoFlex Media App.
This issue seems to be related to the state of the mute slider on the iPad, such that even if the slider is set to control orientation, the GoFlex Media App may continue to mute the video based on the last position of the slide.

Update to the latest version of the GoFlex Media App:

  1. Connect to a wi-fi network with Internet access.
  2. Open the App Store.


     
  3. Click the Updates button on the bottom of the screen.


     
  4. Update the GoFlex Media App (click the a button).

Alternatively, you may follow the steps below to disable the mute option:

  1. Open iPad Settings (the gear icon on the main screen).
  2. Select General on the left.
  3. Set Use Side Switch to: Mute.


     
  4. Click the home button (the button on the middle bottom of the iPad) to exit.
  5. Unmute the iPad using the side switch.

Once the mute has been turned off using the switch, you can change the iPad setting back to orientation lock and the issue should not return.
