You do not need to use the default folders. The Video, Music and Photo views will find the files even if they are stored in other folders.

  • Can I use GoFlex Satellite without installing software on my PC or Mac?
For Windows, the software is optional and does not need to be installed.
For MacOS, you should install the software, since it will allow you to read and write to the drive and automatically disable the drive sleep feature, which could interfere with some Mac applications.

  • I purchase files on iTunes for use with my iPad. Will they work on GoFlex Satellite?
If the iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch is authorized to view the content (authenticated to the account that purchased the content) and supported by the device then yes, the files can be stored on the GoFlex Satellite and played on the the iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch.

  • How many devices can I hook up to GoFlex Satellite?

This depends on the device and other wireless networks in the area. If the device is set to remember the GoFlex Satellite network and doesn't connect to another network, then it should reestablish connection with the GoFlex Satellite automatically.
