How to restore a backup with Memeo Instant Backup in MacOS

Procedure to restore a backup to a destination of your choice in MacOS.

Once you have installed Memeo Instant Backup on your Mac running MacOS 10.4.9 or higher, follow this procedure to restore a backup to a destination of your choice.

Remember that the use of Memeo is only available when the GoFlex drive is formatted to function in Mac Only. If you are using the Paragon driver to make the drive compatible between Mac and PC, Memeo will not function.

  1. Confirm that your GoFlex drive is connected to your Mac.
  2. Double-click on the Memeo icon, either on your Desktop or in the Utilities menu.
  3. Click on the Backup Plan from which to restore your data. It will highlight. Then click Restore.

  4. Decide which files/folders you want to restore by checking on the box(es) representing the data you want restored. Click Restore...

  5. Select the Restore action's destination:
    • to original location
    • to current user location
    • to the desktop
    • to a new folder

You may name the new folder if you choose to create one.

Once the new folder is created, select it and click Save.

  6. Memeo will alert you that it is preferable to close any open programs/applications before continuing. Select Cancel if you would like to close those applications, then you may start over with the launching of your Restore.

  7. Once you tell it to Continue, a progress bar will appear.

  8. The Restore will complete.

If you select Show in Finder at this point, Memeo will open a Finder window, displaying the contents of the destination folder where the data has been restored.
