Why can't I reformat my 3TB drive after plugging it into a system running MacOS?
Instructions for erasing a drive larger than 2TB so that it can be reformatted.
MacOS will reformat drives larger than 2TB with a GUID Partition Table (GPT). Windows cannot reformat the drive until it is fully erased.
