Files backed up using Memeo Instant Backup can be restored several ways. This article will cover two options.
Option A uses the Memeo Instant Backup interface.
Option B uses Windows Explorer.

Note: Option B is not available if the backup was encrypted.

Option A - Restoring the backup using the Memeo Instant Backup interface.
This option is best if the backup was made on the computer you are using to restore.

1. Open Seagate Dashboard by double-clicking the icon on the desktop or the icon in the system tray.
2. Double click the Instant Backup icon in Seagate Dashboard.
3. Click the Restore button.
4. Choose the backup date you want to restore.
5. Choose Select Specific Files to restore.
6. Click Next.
7. Select the file you want to restore (if restoring a deleted file, check the Show deleted files box):
   Search for a file name using the search box in the upper right corner of the windows;
   --OR--
   Browse folders using the older tree and select files or folders using the check boxes.
    
8. Click Continue.
9. Choose No to the restore to original location? question (unless you are restoring a deleted file).
10. Click Browse to choose where to restore the location to restore the file.
    Hint: Desktop is usually an easy place to find your restored file.
     
11. Choose a location and click OK.  

Files will be restored at this point. Click the green link to open the folder that contains the restored files. 

Note:  The files will be in their original folder structure, so if the file was in (My) Documents, it will be in the following sub folders:
Windows XP:  C_\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents
Windows Vista: C_\User\username\Documents
Windows 7:  C_\User\username\Documents

Option B - Restoring backup using Windows Explorer.
This option is best if the backup was made on a different computer than the one being used for restore.

1. Open  (My) Computer.
2. Browse to the drive letter used by the GoFlex drive (it will usually say "GoFlex" next to the drive letter).
3. Open the Backup folder . The folder will be named the same as the original backup.
4. Open the folder with the name of the date you want to restore from (usually the newest date available).
5. Browse to the file you want to restore.
6. Select the files you want to restore and right-click.
7. Choose Copy.
8. Browse to the folder you want to restore to (or just go to the desktop).
9. Right-click in that folder (or on the desktop).
10. Choose Paste.
