Seagate Replica - Problems Restoring to a Large Replacement Drive

If restoring a system backup from a Replica drive to a larger internal drive, the drive partition it creates may not take up the full capacity of the new drive. This article explains.

If you replace a faulty internal hard drive in your PC with a newer drive that has a larger capacity, you may notice that recopying your system from the Seagate Replica, reduces the partition size to that of the original, smaller internal drive.
The Seagate Replica tools can only restore to a partition size that is equal to the original hard drive size. This means that there a potential that your drive may have a lot of unallocated space after a restore.
