Troubleshooting in case DiscWizard's Disk Clone screens show a small Red C: in the gold bar in the "Before cloning:" and "After cloning:" fields.

Why does the Disk Clone screens show a small Red C: in the gold bar in the "Before cloning: and After cloning:" fields?

The red "C" in the gold bar means that there is a problem with the partition or file system on the source drive.  Such partitions can still be imaged, but it will not be possible to resize them unless the errors are corrected.

Correcting errors on the source drive:

  1. Click Start, Run and type "cmd" and click OK.
  2. At the command prompt type "chkdsk /r C: then Enter.
(C: would be the source drive of the image that needs to be checked.)
  3. Click OK and then choose Y when prompted.
  4. Reboot the system.  Check Disk will run and repair errors.
  5. When Check Disk completes boot into Windows and clone the drive using DiscWizard.  The red "C" in the gold bar should not show.  The partition on the destination drive should have been resized to the full drive size.
