To configure static network settings for your Version 2.2 Mirra Personal Server,
Determine the general settings for your network configuration, including the proper IP that you plan to assign to your Mirra.
Connect the Mirra Personal Server to your hub, switch, or router and turn it on.
Install the Mirra software on your first computer. Reboot your PC.
The Mirra software on the computer should load automatically.
Double-click the Mirra icon to open the main Mirra application window.
When prompted, enter the license key provided with your unit.
Your Mirra and your computer will then attempt to complete the connection process, but will fail if the Mirra has not automatically been assigned a suitable IP address via DHCP.
In the Status screen, click Configure on the Tasks menu to open the Mirra Configuration window.
Click Advanced Network Settings.
A window opens showing the settings currently in use by the Mirra.
Select Use the following IP address to fully expose the values.
- If there is no DHCP server on your network, the value for the IP address is something similar to 169.254.183.69 and the Subnet Mask is 255.255.0.0.
Fill in the following fields using the permanent settings appropriate for your network:
- IP Address (must be a value not already in use)
- Subnet mask
- Default gateway
- Preferred DNS server
- Alternate DNS server (if you have one)
Click OK to apply your changes.
Your Mirra Personal Server is now configured with your static network settings. You're reconnected to your Mirra and can complete the Setup Wizard.
