'Access Denied' error when trying to copy to the Public folder (Maxtor Shared Storage Drive)

On some Maxtor Shared Storage drives, the default subfolders created in the Public folder do not have the correct permissions set. This article explains.

On some Maxtor Shared Storage drives, the default subfolders created in the Public folder do not have the correct permissions set.

To fix this permission issue, delete the subfolders under the Public folder (i.e. Our Documents) and re-create them. You should no longer receive the "Access Denied" error when copying to the Public folder.
