Upgrade Installation Tutorial

 This Dantz Retrospect Express software upgrade is only available to Maxtor OneTouch customers using Dantz Retrospect Express 6.0. Download of the upgrade will require entry of the license code provided with the originally installed Retrospect Express 6.0 software and acceptance of the terms of the Dantz Software License Agreement. Please ensure that your system meets the minimum system requirements before upgrading. Refer to Document ID: 186431 for details.

The following procedure will walk you through the installation of Retrospect Express HD to your Windows PC:

  1. Download and extract the Retrospect HD Upgrade to your Windows Desktop.
     
  2. Double-click on the OT_EN_Upgrade folder.
     
  3. Double-click on setup.exe
     
  4. The InstallShield launches and prepares to install Retrospect Express HD. The InstallShield automatically loads Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 to your PC.


     This step is skipped if Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 or newer is already installed to your PC.
     
  5. From the Welcome Screen, click Next>.
     
  6. Review/Accept the License Agreement and click Next>.
     
  7. Enter the User Name, Company Name (optional), choose who you want to install the application for (Anyone or just for yourself) and click Next>.
     
  8. Maintain Recommended as the Setup Type and click Next>.
     
  9. Click Install.
     
  10. At this point Retrospect Express HD installs to your PC. Click Finish to complete the Setup and to close the installation.
     
  11. Press the OneTouch button. Enter the Registration information to register your software immediately; click Register when finished. Click one of the other two buttons if you do not wish to register at this time.


    An Internet Connection is required for registration.
     
  12. The Welcome Screen is displayed. It notifies you that Retrospect Express HD will backup your all file on your system to the OneTouch Drive daily at 10:00 pm. Click Back up now to start your first backup; click setup to adjust the Retrospect Express HD settings; or click the 'X' in the upper right corner of the Window to close the program.
