I have a Seagate Backup Plus with Lyve enabled, what should I do?



Question: I have purchased a Seagate Backup Plus, how will my Seagate Backup Plus be impacted after the Lyve service is discontinued?
Answer: If you enabled the Lyve service to work with your Seagate Backup Plus don’t worry, your Backup Plus Drive will continue to work as a drive after the Lyve service is discontinued on December 31, 2016. After that date, your photos and videos will no longer be viewable through the Lyve mobile and Lyve desktop apps. Those original photo and video files will remain on your Seagate Backup Plus drive and can be exported so that these photos and videos are more discoverable. Other files that are not part of Lyve Drive on your Seagate Backup Plus drive are unaffected.

Question: How can I export the files to a readable format from Lyve Drive?
Answer: Your photos and videos are already on your external drive, but not in a format that is easily readable.  You will be able to export the photos and videos that you had managed with the Lyve service from your Lyve Drive by following these simple steps:
