How to use the Extended Capacity Manager in DiscWizard v18

 
Here is an example of Disk Management before using the Extended Capacity Manager.

The Acronis Extended Capacity Manager is helpful if you want to boot from a drive larger than 2TB and your motherboard does not support GPT booting.  Most modern motherboards come with UEFI and do not need this solution.  This solution is designed for older BIOS type motherboards

 

  1. Launch the Acronis Extended Capacity Manager
     
  2. Click Enable.

  1. Click Apply.

  1. The space is now allocated and needs to be formatted.

  1. There is now a new 746.52GB Virtual Disk in Disk Management that is ready to be formatted (this size will change if your drive is larger than 3TB). You can format this volume in Disk Management.

  2. The disk is now formatted and ready for use.
