Remote Access Service Tappin - Update

On 10/6/2015 the service provider of Tappin will be updating their certificates to increase the security of their servers.  When this occurs Seagate Central devices will need a firmware update to continue to utilize the remote access functionality.


What you need to know

●       The updated Tappin remote access service will not function without the firmware update

●       The basic functions of the service will not change


Required Steps

Auto Update:

  • If your Central is enabled for Auto Update, it is important for you to back up your data before the firmware is auto downloaded on 10/6/15.

Manual Update:

  • Important Note: Back up any and all critical data before you update your firmware.

  • Update your Central device’s firmware from the download finder here.
