How to Use Add New Disk/Format in Windows with DiscWizard v16

  1. From the DiscWizard home screen click Tools and Utilities then Add New Disk.
    *Inside Windows* Main screen of the software with Tools and Utilities and Add New Disk squared off.

  2. Select the disk you would like to Add/Format, then click Next.
    *Inside Windows* Select the Disc you would like to Add/Format. Disc 2 is selected.
  3. This message will appear if the selected disk has been partitioned. Click OK to allow DiscWizard to erase the drive of all its partitions before performing the format.
    *Inside Windows* Pop Up warning you that Discwizard will delete all partitions off the selected disc.
  4. If the drive is 2TB or below in size select MBR. If the drive is over 2TB you will need to select GPT.
    Important: Windows XP systems are not compatible with GUID Partition Table (GPT).
    *Inside Windows* Selecting to Initialize the drive as MBR.
  5. At the bottom of the screen right click and select Create New Partition.

  6. Specify the file system (For Windows use NTFS), the drive letter, and the name of the volume, then click Accept.

    *The default setting is to partition the drive as one partition.
    *Inside Windows* Setting of the partition -File System, Partition Letter,Partition label and Accept are squared off.
  7. Select the disk and then click Next.
    *Inside Windows* Displays the drive with the settings that were selected on the previous screen.
  8. Review the summary screen and click Proceed.
    *Inside Windows* Shows the Before and After of the selected drive.
  9. Once the disk has been formatted a confirmation screen will appear. The disk should now appear in Disk Management and be accessible in Computer.
    *Inside Windows* Pop up stating that the disk was added successfully.
