How to Restore a Windows PC backup with Dashboard 3

Restoring a Windows PC backup using Dashboard 3
If file were backed up using the Dashboard 3 PC backup feature then use the steps below to restore the file(s).
  1. Connect the Seagate drive containing the backup or be sure your network connection is established if restoring from a Seagate Central.
  2. Open Seagate Dashboard by double-clicking the Seagate Dashboard icon on the desktop.

  3. On the Home screen click the Restore option.
  4. Choose the backup plan you want to restore from (click Search for Backups if none are shown)

  5. Click the “>” button to proceed to the next step.
  6. Choose the date (#1) you want to restore from, this allow you to select older versions of files if desired.

    Note: Backups to the cloud will only have one version.

  7. Select the files to be restored.

  8. Click the “>” button to proceed to the next step.
  9. Allow the file to restore to the original location by click the Check Mark button or choose a new location to restore to and then press the Check Mark button.

    Note: If restoring to a different computer or a new operating system, choose a new location to restore to (E.g. a newly created folder on your desktop) since your old user name and folder structure will not fit with a different computer or operating system.

    The restore will start after clicking the check mark. Once complete it  will present a summary screen.
