How to reset a Wireless Plus device if it freezes

If the Seagate Wireless Plus device freezes or hangs, the device can be reset. This article explains.

If the Seagate Wireless Plus device is frozen, hangs, or otherwise becomes unresponsive, the device can be reset.

First, try to power cycle the drive.  Hold down the power button for at least 30 seconds.  The device should power down and the LED should no longer illuminate.

Wait approximately 10 seconds, then press the power button once to power the device on again.

If the drive refuses to turn off, or if it freezes again once you power it back on, you can do a pinhole reset instead.  To do that, find a paper clip or a similar object.  With the drive still powered on, locate the little hole at the bottom of the drive, by the label.  Hold the paper clip down for 10 seconds then let go.  Power the drive off afterwards.  Wait about 30 seconds, then power the drive back on.  Doing this pinhole reset will reset the SSID name and password you may have set up.  You can set them back to what they were once you've wirelessly connected to the drive again.

These processes are not data-destructive.
