Firmware update information for Seagate Central and instructions for checking if an update is available.

Your Seagate Central will automatically update its firmware when updates are available, at a scheduled time of night, unless you chose to disable this option.

Please follow this procedure to check for the most up-to-date firmware:

  1. Launch the Seagate Central Assistant by typing your host name into the address bar of a web browser. See Document ID: 005247 for instructions on finding the host name.
  2. Select the Settings tab.

  3. Under the Advanced tab, select Firmware Update.

  4. Select Check for update to check if there is an update available.

  5. If the Install most recent version is different from the Currently installed version, select the Update now button to update your firmware.
If the Install most recent version is the same as the Currently installed version, your firmware is up to date.

Alternatively, you may download and manually update the firmware according to the instructions located on this page.
