Seagate Central - How to check for firmware updates and update firmware

Firmware update information for Seagate Central and instructions for checking if an update is available.

Your Seagate Central has the option to look for firmware and apply updates found automatically on a schedule of your choosing. This option is enabled by default when you first purchase the drive. If you chose to disable that setting, you can follow these instructions to check for the most up-to-date firmware:

  1. Launch the Seagate Central Assistant by opening the Seagate Central’s Public folder and clicking on the “Manage the Seagate Central” link. Log in with your credentials.
  2. Select the Settings tab.
  3. Under the Advanced tab, select Firmware Update.
  4. Select Check for update to check if there is an update available.
  5. If the Install most recent version is different from the Currently installed version, select the Update now button to update your firmware.
  6. If the Install most recent version is the same as the Currently installed version, your firmware is up to date.
