Seagate Central - How to locate backed up Facebook content


Once the Seagate Central is configured to back up your Facebook account, you may want to view the content that has been backed up. This article explains.

Once the Seagate Central is configured to back up your Facebook account(s) (see Document ID: 005432 for information), you may want to view the content that has been backed up.

Windows:

  1. Open the Start menu, then (My) Computer or Windows Explorer.
    (Windows 8: Press the Windows key () + D, then select File Explorer ().
  2. In the left sidebar, click on the triangle icon next to Network to expand the menu.
  3. Select the Public or private folder you chose at the time you added the Facebook account.
  4. Locate the Facebook folder.
    The contents for each account are located in a folder titled with the account’s e-mail address.

    Here is an example of the Facebook folder as seen in Windows/File Explorer. The account folders and all their downloaded contents are inside.
    The admin account in this image is the private folder, but the Public folder is found just underneath:

     

MacOS:

  1. Open Finder from the Mac desktop.
  2. In the left sidebar under Shared, find your Seagate Central device, listed as Seagate-XXXXXX (where Seagate-XXXXXX is the host name).

    The private share (titled according to your username) and the public share display in the left sidebar.
  3. Open the Public or private folder you chose at the time you added the Facebook account.
  4. Locate the Facebook folder.
    The contents for each account are located in a folder titled with the account's e-mail address.
