Sdrive - How to move data to and from your NAS

This article explains how to use Sdrive with your Mac and PC.
Note: When this article refers to Seagate NAS it is referring to Seagate NAS OS 4.X systems, Personal Cloud and Personal Cloud 2-Bay.

Windows:

Follow the steps below to copy data to your Seagate NAS via Sdrive.

  1. Launch Sdrive and sign-in.
  2. Right click on the icon located in the task bar hover over the drive you wish to use and choose Open in Explorer.
  3. A new window will open and you will see the shares your user has access to. 
  4. Open the share you would like to access. 
  5. Now you can copy data to or from that share.
  Note: Sdrive should only be used to store data on a Seagate NAS via remote access. If you are on the same network as the Seagate NAS use File Explorer to transfer the data and increase file transfer speeds
 

Mac:

Follow the steps below to copy data to your Seagate NAS via Sdrive.
  1. Launch Sdrive and sign-in.
  2. There should now be an Sdrive icon on the menu bar at the top of the screen, right click on the icon.
  3. Hover over the drive you wish to use and choose Open in Finder.
  4. A new Finder window will open, you should now see the shares your user has access to.
  5. Open the share you would like to access
  6. Now you can copy data to or from that share.
  Note: Sdrive should only be used to store data on a Seagate NAS via remote access. If you are on the same network as the Seagate NAS use Finder to transfer the data and increase file transfer speeds
